We are approaching the end of winter, and although many are relieved that the warmer weather of spring is nearing, I am still sorry to see the end of this wonderful season. In fact, I greet every winter with great hope and expectation, because of what the Scriptures say about it.

In Job 38:22-23, God asks Job, "Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?"

When troublous times shall come, God reminds of these treasures of snow that He has reserved unto those times.

Again, in Prov. 25:13, He says, "As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters." This shows that snow in harvest time is refreshing like a faithful messenger. Truly, we are blessed to live in a region where we experience all four seasons.

Each season should hold special meaning for us. From the Earth?s renewal in spring, to the abundant life of summer, to the harvest of autumn, to the refreshing snows of winter. Everything God has done is special, and we need to enjoy and rejoice in every season, knowing that it is God that has determined them for His own purposes.

As we approach spring, I am mindful of the wonderful rains of April, which yield the beautiful flowers of May. I know that God?s year begins with the Jewish month Abib (which starts with the full moon nearest to the spring equinox). That means that we can expect great things to happen as we enter God?s new year.

Also, we are nearing Passover, which we will observe April 4th. It is a wonderful, sobering time in which we remember the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our Passover Lamb, and partake of the Lord?s Supper

I am ever joyful, and continually anticipant of a mighty move of God, which He has promised to do in these last days. The return of our Lord is near. Let us be ready for Him.
