Again God Said

By C. Eldon McNabb

In the Winter, or early Spring of 1969, as I was working a work for the Lord in Kansas City, Missouri, a voice spoke to me in a night vision. The Lord said unto me, "Let them that minister after the law do it not in garments of velvet, but after your way. Know ye not that they that take away your goods shall take away these also, and ye shall not be able to minister?"

Immediately, I awoke, and marveled at the words, then I thought, "I will write that down when I wake up in the morning." However, I felt an urgency in my spirit, and arose, and began to write the words which I had heard. I began with, "Let not them that minister after the law do it in garments of velvet..." Then I felt a strong rebuke in my spirit, insisting that I must write it down exactly as it had been told to me. So I did.

When I returned to the headquarters of our organization for the commemoration of the Feast of Pentecost, I found that the leader of the group was requiring the ministers to sit in custom made clothing: robes and diadems and such. I was amazed, but it caused me to partly understand what the Lord meant by the words which He had spoken to me in the vision. Roman Catholics, and various "Orthodox" groups have long been pompous in their priestly dress. However, in many instances, Protestant ministers have begun to follow their lead. In so doing, they follow the way of the Babylonian rebellion rather than the humble way of Christ. We can spread the gospel without money, but how can the churches which require ceremony operate without the show of ceremony.

God will soon bring the wealth and symbolism of modern Christianity under attack from the fiercely anti-Christian forces in the West. How better to deter the work of the gospel than to deprive Christians of their finances, and their ceremony. However, that attack, in America, will come partly because of the political influence of Christianity. Thus shall be fulfilled the allegory of the rulers of Egypt bringing persecution to bear upon the Israelites. As it is written, "There arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. And he said unto his people, Behold the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we: Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land." Especially, in the aftermath of the recent election, the Christian "show of force" must have had just such an effect on the detractors of Christianity in America. They cannot afford to allow this kind of power to continue to prevail.

Within four years after Lord had spoken to me about this coming time of confiscation of the Christian's goods, the U.S. government began to pass laws of confiscation in relation to the function the Drug Enforcement Agency. The wording of those laws is in such broad terms that they can be used in a wide range of situations. You may have read an article in the Readers Digest a few years ago which named at least two towns where the police would stop people, for whatever pretense, and impound their car, and confiscate their money. Apparently this tactic was used to build multi-million dollar municipal facilities.

We would do well to heed the words of the Apostle Paul, where he said, "Redeeming the time for the days are evil." Evil days are indeed upon us. The terror of Islam, and others, is already taking its toll on the whole earth, and they are especially a threat to Christianity. However, we need to be fully aware also that a fierce, devastating attack against Christianity is foretold in Rev. 17:10, which will be fulfilled by the "G-Ten" nations a few short years from now.

Just a few weeks ago, a minister in Sweden (one of the G-Ten nations) was sentenced to a month in prison because he had made some disparaging remarks about homosexuality from his pulpit. About the same time, France (one of the G-Ten nations) outlawed the use of overt religious symbols by students. Militant Islamists threatened them for it, but we see, in the last few days, that various students have been quietly dismissed from schools in various parts of France for wearing their head covering. And that is not even to mention the all- out push to remove the "Ten Commandments" from all public places in America (also one of the G-Ten nations).

These may seem to be small things which are worthy of little concern on our part, but just as surely as little acorns produce great oak trees, we are seeing the beginning of the things which will shortly bring us to that period of time which so many times in the Bible is called "the Day of the Lord:" the wrath of God against apostate Christianity. In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-9, The Apostle Paul warned us that when that day comes it will come suddenly, as a thief in the night, about the time the ten virgins are waking from their sleep. But some of us have long been taking heed as Paul admonished us in v. 8, preparing ourselves, in righteous apparel, against that day.

Since that day is to come upon us suddenly, it follows then that our oppression will continue to be more or less bearable, and we will be alerted to the imminence of the Day of the Lord by events other than the opposition to our faith. Anti-Christian sentiment has been escalating in America since the year 2000. Since the heady days of Madeline Murray O'Hare, and the official nullification of the first amendment to the Constitution, in respect to limiting the free exercise of religion, little more has been done, until lately.

As anti-Christian speeches and activities have begun to increase, so also have we seen the increase of signs from God which those who do not "sleep as do others" can readily see. If they cannot see them at first for themselves, they can readily see them when they are pointed out to them by men of God. We have seen, for instance, the fulfillment of much of Zephaniah 1, and the forty and two months of Revelation 11. As we have revealed this in the last three years, many ministers have discredited the revelation of these facts. I do not say this to cast aspersions, but very few ministers have the "testimony of Jesus (which) is the Spirit of Prophecy" (Rev. 19:10). Consequently, they erroneously think John was talking about their personal testimony that they have Jesus in their hearts.

Zephaniah begins with God's forewarning that He intends to purge out all idolatry from His people, as well as those who believe in the Almighty, but are busy doing everything except serving Him. In verse 10, God begins to describe a series of events which he will cause to happen for a sign to Christians of today. He described the events in great detail; showing the coming destruction of the twin towers, the attack on the Pentagon, and the crash of the third Jet in the hills of Pennsylvania. Concerning those worshipers, God went on to say in v. 13, "Their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof." Their detractors shall take their big churches away from them, and their big following will melt away.

God tells us in v. 16, "(It is) a day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers (of Christianity)." In v. 14, He told us that when these things happen, "The great day of the Lord is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly." The Lord clearly shows us here that, during the day of the Lord, the preparation for the return of our Lord and King will be made. In John the Baptist, we were given "The voice of one crying in the wilderness," to prepare for the first coming of Jesus. And we are given "The voice of the Day of the Lord," to make preparation for His second coming.

In Zeph. 2:1-3, God continues to admonish us to heed that voice, saying, "Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O Nation not desired; Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord's anger comes upon you. Seek ye the Lord, all the meek of the earth, which have wrought His judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord's anger."

Because the scriptures say, "We are not appointed unto wrath," we assume that no Christians will suffer with the ungodly in that day. We must not let our ministers confuse us with their assurances of "Peace, peace." The Lord said here, that if all the meek of the earth seek righteousness, and meekness, even they cannot be certain of being hid during that time. Where then shall those be who do not set their hearts to prepare themselves against that day?
