The Spirit Speaketh

In 1 Timothy 4:1,2, the Apostle Paul told us, "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron." Then he went further and named a couple of those things.

Paul further stated, in Colossians 3:1-6, "Seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall yea also appear with Him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, - and covetousness, which is idolatry."

There is no doubt that we are in the latter times. Could we not, then, reasonably infer from these statements that the Prosperity Doctrine, which encourages covetousness, is a doctrine of devils?
