The Lord has been good to me. I have noticed that throughout the Bible, the Lord tells His people His ways, His statues and commandments. Often, God tells us to do these with the whole of ourselves.
We, as a group, have been saying, “It’s war.” It is time for war. My question is: Are we ready for war? One thing we need to do is put on the whole armor of God. The armor of God had been on my mind for a while, and I began to think, “Do I have the whole armor of God on? And, if I do, how good is my armor?
In Ephesians 6, we are told about the armor of God. The first part of the armor mentioned is having your loins girt about with truth. How much truth do I know well enough to explain? The second part of the armor mentioned is to have ones feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Does the way I would present the truth I understand show a gospel of peace? The most important part of the armor is the shield of faith. Is my faith big and strong enough for war? The fourth part of the armor of God mentioned is the helmet of salvation. Is my salvation sure? Do I knowingly do that which is not what the Lord would have me to do? Am I repentant when I find I have done wrong? The fifth part of the armor of God is the sword of the spirit: the Word of God. How much of the Bible do I know well enough to wield as a sword?
Thinking on the armor of God, I see my armor could be better and I am encouraged to work harder to prepare myself for war, that I may stand. And I really appreciate that God brought to my attention this need to get better prepared. I am thankful for all the Lord has done for me. Amen.
